No longer new from Nashville!

Three of the four Nashville acts who have visited Scotland as part of the CMA's New From Nashville promotion during the past 19 months, have been dropped from the label.
Former Epic artist Jon Randall and former Columbia artist Jessi Alexander, who both visited Glasgow in 2005, are the latest victims of the merger between Sony & BMG. The artists, who are a couple, had been working on a duets album together.
They join this years New From Nashville artist Jace Everett, who has lost his deal, as has other new artists, Susan Haynes, Brice Long and Jamey Johnson.
Jon Randell will be back in Scotland on August 4th, supporting Emmylou Harris at The Glasgow Royal Concert Hall.

 

Whats On in July

Stateline are the guests of the San quentin CW Club (Polmont Golf Club, Maddison) on Friday July 7th. Meanwhile in Alloa, The Prairie Star hold two nights during the month. Frank Welshman will be at the Weirs Social Club on Saturday 1st, whilst on the 29th, Carson City will be in town.
Elsewhere, Glasgow plays host to a number of big names in the next few weeks. You can catch The Crooked Jades at The Arches (July 9th), Guy Clark at The Arches (July 24th), Nanci Griffith & The Del McCoury Band at the ABC (July 25th)and Dwight Yoakam at the ABC(July 26th).

Scottish Bluegrass Calender

Dan Mitchell, Glenn Zankey, Danny Rogers, Ken Seaman, and Willie McDonald are celebrating the 25rd year of the Bluegrass Patriots in 2005–- one of the longest-running acts in bluegrass.
The Patriots have been recognized as one of the top traditional bands in bluegrass, and they're coming to Linlithgow on Wednesday 19th July. The venue is The Queen Margaret Hall,Blackness Road. Tickets available by calling 01259 214908.
Then. for the Scottish Bluegrass Association's 20th Bluegrass Festival, held in the small Perthshire village of Guildtown over the weekend of Aug 11,12& 13th. This year's event features top American & European bands...... Red & Murphy & Co,(USA) Two Stringers, (USA) Prof. David Leinweber (USA), Deep River Band (England), Redwing (Scotland), Goldrush(Scotland).

Bein Inn gigs

Gail Davies returns for two nights at Glenfarg's Bein' Inn on June 30th & July 1st.
The venue also welcome back Heather Myles October 16/17th.
Sid Griffen & The Coal Porters head for the Perthshire village on Friday June 23rd, whilst coming in on July 26th & 27th are Burritto Deluxe, currently making a lot of noise with their "Midnight At A Red Light" UK radio single.
