CMA International Award nominees

The Nashville based Country Music Association have announced this year's nominees for their International Artist Award. British hopes pin on Rachael Warwick. Others are Germany's Tom Astor, Australia's Adam Harvey & Melinda Schneider, Canada's Michelle wright & Corb Lund, Brazil's Rodrigo Haddad and sweden's Calaisa.
Previous winners have came from Canada & Australia.
This year's winner will be announced in the spring, and gets a top slot during The CMA Music Festival in Nashville in June.

Joe Ely will be at Edinburgh's Queens Hall on April 20th. Meanwhile catch Hayseed Dixie at the Edinburgh Liquid Rooms on April 23rd,Inverness Ironworks on the 24th, and Glasgow's ABC on the 25th, and Katy Moffatt has dates at Birnam, Dunkeld,May 11th ; Kircaldy Folk Club 17th and Peebles 18th.

 

Charlie Landsborough

Charlie Landsborough returns to Scotland for a few dates in March, including Falkirk Town Hall on March 16th. Other dates include Ayr (14th) and Motherwell (15th).

Forth Valley Dates in February

The San Quentin Club, at Maddison Golf Club welcome Greyhound Express to their club on Friday 2nd. The following night, Alloa's Weirs Club is the venue for the regular meeting of The Prairie Star CWC. This month, Texas Express are the guests.
The Bootleggers Annual Festival is on Saturday 10th, when, for the 9th year, linedancers and Country fans from all over head for Tillicoultry's Devonvale Hall.

Later in the month,Rambling Fever return to entertain the Polmont Linedancers at Maddison Golf Club on Friday 16th, and The No Angels welcome American Spirit to Boness Town Hall on the 23rd.

Celtic Music Radio - Celtic Country

Stewart Fenwick's "Celtic Country" returns to the airwaves for the next 3 Sunday nights, Jan 21st & 28th and February 4th from 8-10pm on Celtic Music Radio.
The station is heard across Glasgow on 106.6 FM and worldide at www.celticmusicradio.org.uk.
Although applying for a fiull time licence, the station is currently only on air during the annual Celtic Connections Festival, which this year has lots on offer for Country fans, including the following concerts:

Bluegrass in Bathgate

Ruby Rendall

Our favourite Orcadian Country singer, and former BBC Country music presenter, Ruby Rendall's Ruby Red Wine album was released on C.D. format just before Christmas as a special limited edition to celebrate Attic Records 25 years in the business.

Del Reeves

Longtime Grand Ole Opry member Del Reeves died on New Year's Day, after an extended illness. He was 73. Reeves' best known hits included "Girl on the Billboard," "The Belles of Southern Bell" and "Looking at the World Through a Windshield."
