Dont forget the Revival
Country fans missing Country music on the radio, should note that Cumbernauld based Revival FM, which can be heard across the Central belt on 100.8, has 4 hours of Country gospel music every week. Bill Anderson has Country Cavalcade on Tuesday nights 7.30-9.30, and Isobel & Walter Stevenson on air at the same time on Wednesday nights.

New Clay Walker & Stephen Smyth CD's
Amongst the new releases this month is Clay Walker's "Fall", which features the great single "Fore She Was Mama", and a duet with Freddie Fender on "Before The Next Teardrop Falls", recorded just a few month's before Freddie passed away last year.

Music Row writer Glenn Sutton dies
Glenn Sutton, the Grammy-winning songwriter who produced Lynn Anderson's classic "(I Never Promised You A) Rose Garden," died Tuesday of an apparent heart attack. He was 69.
Born in Hodge, La., Mr. Sutton is responsible for writing or co-writing a slew of country hits, and he and frequent collaborator Billy Sherrill helped bring the smooth, piano-heavy "countrypolitan" sound into favor in the 1970s. He was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1999.
Sutton's "Almost Persuaded," co-written with Sherrill, was a massive hit for David Houston in 1966. It was his first No. 1 country single. It won a best country song Grammy and a country song of the year prize from performing rights organization BMI, and also was recorded by luminaries including George Jones, Don Gibson, Freddy Fender, Merle Haggard and Tammy Wynette.
Sutton's other writing credits include key country hits, such as Wynette's yearning "I Don't Want To Play House," Jerry Lee Lewis' "What's Made Milwaukee Famous (Has Made A Loser Out Of Me)" and the stomping kiss-off "Your Good Girl's Gonna Go Bad," a hit for Wynette.
When he wasn't writing songs for others, Mr. Sutton spent a lot of time finding material and producing artists for Epic Records, where he served as an associate producer. In addition to his work with Anderson, his wife of nine years, he produced Tommy Cash, Jim & Jesse, Bob Luman and others.

Martina McBride will be a mentor and singing on this weeks American Idol. It first airs on Friday night on ITV2 at 8.30pm, but for those without Digital or Freeview, you can catch her on ITV on Saturday at 1.40pm (first show mentoring contestants) and the results show on Sunday at 12.35pm (singing).

The original singer of "Tiny Bubbles" ,Hawaiian singer Don Ho, died Saturday at the age of 76.

CMT Video Awards announced
Carrie Underwood's music video for "Before He Cheats" won in three categories Monday night to finish as the frontrunner at the 2007 CMT Music Awards. Other winners at the fan-voted awards show included Kenny Chesney, Jack Ingram, Rascal Flatts, Taylor Swift and Sugarland.
Cash vision award to fellow Highwayman
Kris Kristofferson accepted the Johnny Cash Visionary Award from singer-songwriter Rosanne Cash during Monday's CMT Music Awards show at Nashville's Belmont University. The award recognizes "an artist's extraordinary musical vision, innovative and groundbreaking music and pioneering initiatives in entertainment." The presentation included a particularly poignant moment with a video clip of Johnny Cash inviting Kristofferson to help him sing "Sunday Morning Coming Down.".
Cash home to be rebuilt
Former Bee Gee Barry Gibb has vowed to build another home on the site where Johnny Cash's house burnt down last week.
Gibb and his wife Linda were devastated when the lakeside home in Hendersonville, Tennessee, was destroyed in a fire on 10 April.
Country icon Cash and his singer wife June Carter Cash lived in the house for decades before their deaths in 2003.
The Gibbs purchased the building last year for an estimated $2.3 million (£1.2 million) in the hope of converting it into a studio.

Shaver in shooting attack
Billy Joe Shaver , whose new Greatest Hits album was released in America this week, turned himself in at a Waco, Texas, jail on Tuesday after he shot a man at an area bar on Saturday night (March 31). After posting $50,000 bond, Shaver was released. Shaver claims that he acted in self-defense after an aggressive drunk man followed Shaver out of the bar with a knife. The man was reportedly shot in the cheek. Shaver's charges included assault and a weapons charge.
Alan Jackson - by the Mrs
Denise Jackson, wife of country superstar Alan Jackson, has written a memoir about their life together and the rediscovery of her faith after the near-failure of their marriage. It's All About Him: Finding the Love of My Life will be published in July by Thomas Nelson Publishers. Denise Jackson co-wrote the book with Ellen Vaughn. Alan Jackson wrote the foreword and recorded two songs on a bonus CD specifically for the project. The book will also include photos of the couple and their family.
