Tequilla top band at Prairie Star
Alloa's Prairie Star C&W Club presented Tequilla with the club's Band Of The Year Award on Saturday night. Congratulations to the Tayside duo.
Carnegie Country
The Carnegie Conference Centre in Halbeath, near Dunfermline is hosting a Country night with Western Rythym on Friday August 15th. Tickets cost £22.50, but that does include a welcoming glass of sparkling wine and a 2 course buffet dinner.

Remembering Jim Reeves
To mark the 45th Anniversary of Jim Reeves' tragic death on July 31st 1964, H&H Music have released a new single featuring one of Jim's earliest and last recordings.
"How Many Tears From Now" was recorded in 1947 at the radio station where Jim started his DJ career. The recording was only found recetly, whilst "Subconcious Mind" was recorded just a month before his death.
Scotland's Celtic Music Radio honoured JIm, with no less than 10 tracks on this week's programme, and invited listeners to choose the best European "Jim Reeves" between Scotland's Al Grant, England's Paul wheater, Ireland's Matt Leavy and Norway's Arne Benoni.
Al Grant was a narrow winner over Paul Wheater.

Mel on the mend
Grand Ole Opry member Mel McDaniel has been moved from a hospital to a rehabilitation centre after suffering a heart attack last month, He will undergo further treatment and hopes to return home soon.
The 66-year-old singer had a run of hits in the 1980s that included "Baby's Got Her Blue Jeans On," Stand Up" and "Louisiana Saturday Night.""
A native of Checotah, Okla., McDaniel sang for oil field workers in Alaska in the 1970s before becoming successful in Nashville.
Besides his solo hits, he's also written songs recorded by Kenny Rogers, Conway Twitty and Earl Scruggs.
McDaniel has been a regular on the Grand Ole Opry since 1986.
A benefit concert will be held at The Nashville Palace on August 13th.

Steve James represents Scotland at Awards show- Alloa date next month

Return for Charlie Allen
Charlie Allen makes a return to the UK and Ireland for the UTV Festival, but also will appear in Scotland for a short series of dates. He will appear on 7th August at The Nobles Bar and Grill in Edinburgh, 8th at Dalgety Bay in Fife and on 9th at Betty Nicols in Kirkcaldy. The Edinburgh dates will include Scotland's Jackie Storrar who has a new single, "Caledonia", released
