Scots winners at BCM Awards
Congratualtions to Raintown for scooping the big prize at Sunday night's British Country Music awards in London. As well as collecting the Entertainer Of The Year Award, Claire was named Top Female Vocalist.
Congratualtions also to The Northern Nashville Caithness Country Music Festival who won the UK Festival Of The Year Award.

Janey on TV, and you can be too.
Fife based singer songwriter, Janey Kirk has a new TV project, which will air on Irush TV (Sky 191) in 2015. And she needs people to be part of it. Janey says, "I need people to attend the two venues based in East Kilbride from around 9 morning till around 9 evening. Chris Young 2015 World Tour
The multi-talented RCA Records Nashville rising star Chris Young is prepping his passport as he makes plans to bring his 2015 World Tour to international audiences, including Glasgow.
He'll appear at the ABC on Wednesday, September 16th 2015.
Tickets are on-sale from 9am on Friday 28th November priced at £15.
Chris Young’s latest album A.M. has already yielded his Gold certified, sixth American No. 1 hit single “Who I Am With You” and Top 5 hit and Gold certified single “Aw Naw.” His latest hit, “Lonely Eyes,” is quickly climbing the charts.

New Dean Owens EP
‘Closer To Home’ is the lead track taken from the new EP ‘No Man’s Land’ from Edinburgh’s Celtic troubadour Dean Owens.
Inspired by the story of a soldier returning from the front writing to his loved one about how it gets harder to be away from home the closer you get to returning, Dean has written a song that poignantly describes the emotions of those at war and those they love.
The ‘No Man’s Land EP’ arrives appropriately enough in the week of Armistice Day in the year when we remember 100 years since the beginning of The Great War. Backed, with three further war themed songs and with a stunning cover featuring the original painting ‘Sea Of Red’ by Philip Braham . ‘The Closer To Home’ is a true representation of the songwriting talent that has earned Dean high praise:
Recorded in Nashville and produced by Neilson Hubbard (Ben Glover, Kim Richey), ‘Closer To Home’ is taken from the forthcoming album ‘Into The Sea’ .

Nashville's CMA presented the Irving Waugh Award of Excellence to Nashville treasure Vince Gill during “The 48th Annual CMA Awards,”.
Gill choked up during a video salute aired during the Awards as artists including Rodney Crowell, Merle Haggard, Emmylou Harris, Taylor Swift, James Taylor, and Keith Urban paid tribute to Gill’s artistry and impact on Country Music.
The Irving Waugh Award of Excellence is awarded to an individual who is the originator and caretaker of demonstrated ideas and actions that have dramatically broadened and improved Country Music's influence on a national or international level for the benefit of the industry. It is the intention that these ideas and actions typically will have run a course of years and shall have a proven historical impact on the format.
The Award was created in 1983, when it was presented to its namesake Irving Waugh, a visionary who was instrumental in the creation of the CMA Awards. Since then, the Irving Waugh Award of Excellence has only been presented four times including Frances Preston (1987), a legendary figure in BMI history; Jo Walker-Meador (1991), the Executive Director of the Country Music Association from 1962 to 1991; the iconic Johnny Cash (2003); and longtime, former producer of the CMA Awards, Walter Miller (2009).
Gill has a long history with the CMA Awards himself, including hosting the annual gala 12 times (1992-2003).

Tucker exhibit at Hall Of Fame
Nashville's Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum has opened a Tanya Tucker: Strong Enough to Bend exhibition, which covers highlights of Tucker’s colourful career, which will run through May 2015.
Tucker’s story is told through a collection of artifacts that illustrate her tough and tender duality and ahead-of-her-time tenure as a female country crossover star. Gorgeous stage costumes, including several Nudie’s Rodeo Tailor designs from very early in her career and gowns worn at award shows contrast with her numerous National Cutting Horse Association awards and a Harley-Davidson 1992 Screamin’ Eagle— customized in her special hue of pink paint. A copy of the September 26, 1974 Rolling Stone magazine featuring Tucker as the first female country artist to appear on the cover underscores her impact, as do Tucker’s outfit from the 1994 Super Bowl halftime show and a script from her 1981 appearance on an episode of the massively popular TV series The Love Boat.
